We’re Rosie and Andy, originally from the UK, and for many years, we called Bahrain home. After two decades in the corporate world, something started calling us back to a simpler life. In 2022, we found a piece of land in Wannathawilluwa: 35 acres of wild jungle, quiet, and possibility. We knew immediately: this was a place we wanted to care for and share.
Rosie & Andy Deamer

With help from friends, neighbours, and kindred spirits, The Coconut Experience began to grow, not just as an eco-lodge, but as a way of life. A way to reconnect with nature, with food, with community.
Meet the rest of the team that makes this place what it is:

Paul Duke
Paul is a long-time friend. We met back in 2006 when he moved to Bahrain. With a background in animal welfare and a deep love for agriculture, Paul shares our vision of a life closer to nature. He joined us to help bring this project to life, and today, he’s a partner in The Coconut Experience.
Chamara Fernando
Chamara has been working in Sri Lanka’s tourism world since 2011, and brings a level of care and professionalism that keeps everything running smoothly here. As General Manager, he’s the bridge between us and the many moving parts of this place, and always finds time to support social causes close to his heart, especially helping children in need.

Rasika Rodrigo
Rasika grew up in a rural farming community not far from here, and he knows this land like the back of his hand. He’s not only a co-owner of The Coconut Experience, but also a kind and steady presence; passionate about farming, hospitality, and making sure people feel at home.
Anura Shantha
Anura worked as a gardener in Bahrain for over 30 years, which is how we first got to know him. Now back in Sri Lanka and retired, Anura takes care of the land here with quiet dedication; tending to trees, walking the paths, and always ready with a warm welcome for visitors.

This place was never meant to be just a business. It’s a shared dream.
And every guest who comes here becomes part of that story.
